The recycle-more team would like to say a big thank you to all of the people that came to visit us at the BBC Summer Festival in 2008. The event was a huge success and we received many competition entries. The competition question, to win an iPod shuffle, was: "In the UK, lots of waste is sent to landfill such as household, industrial, agricultural and commercial waste. What percentage of the total landfilled waste, in the UK, is household packaging?"

The answer is 3% and, although this seems quite low, this still equates to roughly 10 million tonnes of landfilled packaging per year. Only we, as a nation, can do something about this. Please make sure, wherever possible, that you reduce, reuse, and recycle-more. The winner of the competition was Mrs Rita Greenwood from Solihull.
