MAILER FILM

HI

Can anyone tell me if mailer film (the stuff often used to wrap magazines etc sent through the post) can be mixed with plastic bags to be returned to supermarket collection points for recycling?

Thanks

The new New Scientist plastic wrapper says that it is oxo-degradable and should be disposed of responsibly in landfill.

Email the company concerned. If you don't comment/question you are as far as they are concerned not simply a happy customer but one who is actively requesting whatever they are providing (ie not just putting up with it)! Be bothered!!!

I think Sainsbury's are now labelling some plastic film with a message that says it can be recycled with plastic bags...HOWEVER...

..as noted in the post above, be careful as bio-degradable and compostable plastic CANNOT be recycled at all! If in doubt - check with the owner fo the recycling bin i.e: retailer or council for a definitive answer

It depends on the plastic, for instance I believe that New Scientist is now wrapped in one which it says should be put into landfill to rot away. Keep reading the info. Others can be put in with carrier bags to be recycled if you can't avoid it at all.
